Overview
The stiffness of paper, the toughness of plastic.
A paper-plastic composite pairs a kraft face with a PE film or PP woven core. It is specified when the bag needs more stiffness and print quality than plain film, but a full multiwall paper build is more than the product requires.
Plastic-like toughness
The PE film or PP woven core adds tear resistance and moisture protection that paper alone cannot provide.
A practical middle ground
Often lower cost than full multiwall paper and stiffer than plain PE — useful when you need both print and protection.
Construction
What goes into the bag.
Each layer has a job: strength, barrier, print or product contact. We specify them together so the bag performs as one structure, not a stack of materials.
Custom builds are normal. Thickness, ply count, coating and valve can be adjusted after a sample trial. Send the product data sheet and we will propose a starting structure.

A composite bag uses a plastic film or woven layer for strength and moisture protection, with paper on the outside for print and stiffness. A multiwall paper bag uses several paper plies and relies on paper strength and coatings for barrier.
Is the paper layer food-grade?
Food-grade kraft paper and PE film can be specified, with material declarations on request. Share your target market and compliance requirements so we can confirm the right build.
Can the bag be recycled?
Paper-plastic composites are not always accepted in single-stream paper recycling because of the mixed layers. We can discuss paper-heavy or mono-material alternatives if recyclability is a priority.
What print quality can I expect on kraft paper?
Kraft paper gives a natural, matte look. Solid colours print slightly differently from white paper, so we provide a proof for approval before production.
